After filler treatment, the following reactions may occur due to the nature of the injection itself. Most cases are temporary and resolve naturally within a few days to two weeks.
- Swelling at the injection site — this is the most common reaction and usually subsides within 2 to 7 days.
- Bruising (bleeding) — occurs more frequently in areas with many blood vessels (lips, under the eyes, etc.) and is absorbed within 1 to 2 weeks.
- Tenderness/foreign body sensation — There may be discomfort when pressing on the injection site, which will gradually ease.
- Asymmetrical feeling - the left and right sides may look different due to initial swelling, but it will look natural as the swelling goes down.
- Slight induration — may feel hard before the filler sets in and will soften over time
After care
Post-procedure care instructions
- cold compress — Helps reduce swelling immediately after the procedure. Rather than applying ice directly, apply it indirectly by wrapping it in a towel.
- no massage — Before the filler settles, it can be moved by pressing or rubbing the treatment area strongly. Be careful for at least 2 weeks.
- Drinking, sauna — It is recommended to refrain from using it for several days after the procedure. Increased blood flow may cause swelling to become more severe.
- vigorous exercise — It is best to avoid it on the day of the procedure and the day after.
- UV protection — The treatment area may be more sensitive to UV rays during recovery, so apply sunscreen thoroughly.
